The Great Olympics

After fantastic two weeks the 2012 Olympics came to a glorious end yesterday. Two weeks of intense competition of the best athletes in the world for the ultimate achievement in the pinnacle of sports.     I watched earnestly & was in awe of the sportive spirit, dedication & skill among the athletes. The difference of winning & loosing was a so trivial. Their faces were Jubilant, full of pride when they stood on the pedestal to receive the medals they had won for their country. And it was Perhaps most cherished moment in their life.     The origin of Olympics itself is a legend. Called the Ancient Olympics, they supposed to have originated around 776 BC  (..Wow think about that time),  as an honor to the Greek father of the gods Zeus at Athens. Dalhousie A Quiet Hill Station

Dalhousie is my favorite hill station. I present a detail info on it, a bit long but I hope you would enjoy reading it & be motivated to visit this beautiful place.   What strikes about Dalhousie is its comparative elusiveness, A feeling of being lost in the Nature, & believe me, you will fall in love with its yet un spoilt nature in Dalhousie. It’s a paradise for walking for both who walk for the pleasure of it & for those who are adventurous at heart.  You can go for long walks in thick deodar (Cedar), oak covered trails or for a good hiking in the surrounding forest. Dalhousie, known for its bracing, oxygen rich Himalayan air, A few deep breaths of which would relieve you of your weariness even after a though hike in just 2 min. I myself experienced it many times and surprised to find how effective it is. Dalhousie offers breath taking views all around. You just can't have enough of it. On one side there are Dhauladhar Ranges covered in snow al...

Such Names when heard or spoken give visualizations of their legacy, value, royalty, personality and achievements.  They could be People, Places, Structures or objects of great importance or having a unique place in the world. There are many such examples – Sachin Tendulkar in Cricket, Alfred Hitchcock in Movies, Taj Mahal, Eiffel Tower for structures, Mt. Everest, Alps in places, Rolls Royce, Ferrari in cars etc.. When spoken of such, the Name itself reflects so much that a whole book can’t.       One such name which surely falls in that Category is The Royal Enfield. Royal Enfield initially were weapons manufacturers in the 1800s,which can be seen on their logo-  A Canon  In 1890 it was licensed to build motorcycles, bicycles, engines & lawnmowers. During 1900s the first motorcycles were manufactured by t...
