Bhopal Express - A Unique Experience in a Rail Coach Restaurant

Since my childhood I had been fascinated by Trains and any thing related to trains, may be because I have been travelling in them since the time I don't even remember. I used to enjoy the 30 hour journey to my hometown during holidays & Train was home till reaching the destination. Among many other interesting & exciting activities during the journey, eating home packed food in a moving train was fun which I enjoyed as a child. And I still do enjoy the snacks / meals on the train, how ever the quality of the pantry car food has gone down in recent years.  Imagine my delight when I visited with relatives to one of a kind restaurant in Bhopal city where I could experience the same atmosphere with out actually making the journey. The Rail Coach restaurant, called Bhopal Express , named after the popular express train from New Delhi to Bhopal.      Idli is a traditional & one of the most popular dish from the kitchens of South India. This delicious item is an integral part of breakfast in South India along with equally popular dosa, and is many times made into a combination of Idli-Dosa for breakfast or for any-time-snacks.      Although Idli is generally made in similar style everywhere, the side dishes with which it is devoured varies depending on which region of India you are in & it influences the taste to quite an extent. For example in the state of Tamil Nadu, Idli is preferred when dipped in a bowl of hot & spicy Sambar. In Karnataka it is mainly consumed with chutney made from coconut & chanadal. And in Andhra it is always with two chutneys, one made of ginger & other from Coconut + chanadal. Although Idli with sambar is available & liked in all regions, there are certain combinations in various regions which are mostly preferred & equally delicious...
