Enchanting Salzburg Salzburg a beautiful Enchanting city known for its picaresque alpine background, rich musical history and a captivating fairytale atmosphere. Salzburg is one my favourite places. The architecture of the buildings and the lovely streets always impressive. For me & I am sure for many others, Salzburg name & the movie "Sound of Music" are synonymous. If you haven't watched it yet then please do immediately. Since the time I watched the movie I always wanted to visit this beautiful city. The movie showcased Salzburg in its magnificent best. In my first visit to Salzburg. in 2005, I took a city ticket and went to all the filming locations of the movie. Imagine the popularity of the movie & Salzburg that there is a "Sound of Music" tour available for tourists. tickets can be bought at the Train station or online. Tegernsee - A Blue Pearl

  Tegernsee - A Blue Pearl Tegernsee is a picturesque lake town nestled in the foothills of the Bavarian Alps, south of Munich. The town can be accessed by car from Munich in about an hour and by train in 1.5 hours, with hourly services running between Munich and Tegernsee. This is my experience during my visit in January 2026 to this amazing place from Munich. I took the RB57 train from Munich's main station, Hauptbahnhof. Although it was cold, there was no snow in Munich, but upon entering the Alps, the scenery transformed, with plenty of snow and increasingly breathtaking views. I was lucky to get a window seat and I couldn't get my eyes of the vistas which were emerging after every turn the train was taking as it snaked towards the alps. Tegernsee lake revealed itself all of a sudden as the train came down from a crest and took a turn prompting a collective gasp of wonder at the spectacular sight. The Plan     India, in its vastness, encapsulates many different cultures, captivating destinations, and not to forget, richness of culinary delights.  India's geographical diversity is a haven for road trip enthusiasts. The Great Himalayas span from the North to the Northeast, offering breathtaking mountain views and adventures. the vast desert In the West captivates with its stark beauty. The central regions are adorned with lush forests and the scenic Western Ghats, add to the country's natural splendor. Along India's long peninsula to the south, Lovely beaches beckon with Sun, Sand and Sea. This is an account of our Longest Road trip so far which we did in December 2023. Annually we drive to our home town Tenali from Noida. A distance of 1850kms. Only this time we decided to make a detour via the incredible Rajasthan.  The dream   of driving to the border outposts at Tanot and Munabao in the heart of the Thar Desert had long been on our bucket list.
