Shot Through The Windows

Image
Windows are the gateway to the world. I am not talking about Microsoft Windows here, but physical windows. I love to frame them in my pictures wherever & whenever possible.   They offer a unique perspective to the outside view while being in a building, train or a plane. Always look for windows when I go to any place and see if I can get a good shot.   There might be a stark contrast between what we are experiencing inside and what we perceive through the window. Won’t you agree?   Here I present some of my shots of Windows or more precisely “ Shot Through The Windows” 21-08-22

As Far As We Can See

Train journeys provide ample opportunity for good conversations, either be it in a long journey or a short one. While travelling by train I could see complete strangers getting acquainted and involving in many interesting conversations with topics ranging from cinema, philosophy & politics, mostly the later & you unwillingly or unconsciously become a listener.         In year 1999, I was travelling by a passenger train to Vijayawada from Tenali along with 3 of my collage friends to attend a training session. To make the 50 min journey interesting & to make us forget that we didn’t get any seats and were standing in the aisle, I put a question to my friends.    “ How far can you see?”, I asked generally. First friend said immediately “1 Km, I can see the bus coming into the town from the highway”.     Second friend said, “ I can see the hill from the roof of my house which is 5km away”...

A Broader Perspective

Fight over preferred seat in a train, parking, overtaking on roads, standing in queue, favorite channel in TV,  the list is endless.   But what we don’t realize is, how insignificant these things are & how insignificant we are in the larger sense of universe, if we look in a broader perspective. To emphasize what I am trying to say & to prove that I am not being philosophical, let me show you….. 1. Our planet Earth, our home is the third planet from ...

The Great Olympics

After fantastic two weeks the 2012 Olympics came to a glorious end yesterday. Two weeks of intense competition of the best athletes in the world for the ultimate achievement in the pinnacle of sports.     I watched earnestly & was in awe of the sportive spirit, dedication & skill among the athletes. The difference of winning & loosing was a so trivial. Their faces were Jubilant, full of pride when they stood on the pedestal to receive the medals they had won for their country. And it was Perhaps most cherished moment in their life.     The origin of Olympics itself is a legend. Called the Ancient Olympics, they supposed to have originated around 776 BC  (..Wow think about that time),  as an honor to the Greek father of the gods Zeus at Athens. The ancient Olympics continued till 393AD.. Astounding to note that organized games have such an ancient beginning, which perhaps makes it the oldest known organized event.   ...
